WOODBURY, Minn. (WCCO) – The Olympic Spirit lives this weekend in Woodbury.
More than 1,200 Special Olympics athletes from across the state took part in the Minnesota Fall Games.
“I was one of the first Marines in Iraq in 2003,” Anthony Koch said. “I survived two missions, nothing happened at all. A week after I got back to the states, I got in a terrible car accident. I was in a coma for five months and three days. But I pulled through that.”
WCCO caught up with the gold medal softball competition this afternoon at Bielenberg Sports Center.
The Wild Angels, from Bloomington, ended up on top.
Besides softball, the Fall Games include equestrian events, golf, and bocce ball.
